One of the Pygmy Burrowing Owls at the zoo. They don't ACT vicious, but they always looks like they're ready to kill anything that comes near them. Makes one wonder, if one happens to be in a silly mood, if they do it to keep from looking too darn cuddly. Because they easily could.
The first thing I thought was that this dude looks evil. Owls are beautiful in a menacing sort of way. They just sit there and quietly observe everything.
They have to frown like that, otherwise they´d hear "AWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!" all day long, esp. at a zoo. I like the good focus on the eye and how the bg forms a natural dark frame. Great work! ^^
Thanks Owls are quite a diverse bunch. Some have that evil-killer look, some just look stoned or lost, and some just look dignified. These guys definitely fall into the first category.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
