Artist's Comments

I'm not sure this really belongs in the Abstract category, but it isn't a real animal portait, either, so it didn't seem right to put it there. This is as close to the shot I've wanted to make of a zebra, for ages, as I could get in 5 minutes of PSing it. Again, keep in mind... PS skills of a below average monkey. I'd really like even less difference between the head and flanks, but didn't know how to achieve that without a lot of work and/or a lot of research.

Thank you! Thank you!

I'm glad you like it. I'm quite pleased with this one, too. (Until someone points out something I did wrong. :D)

The only thing that's truly impossible is proving that something is impossible.

If I say "You're welcome!", now, does that count?

wow! I love this. Excellent handling of a beautiful subject has turned it into something quite abstract and unusual to look at.

Thank you very much! I'm glad you like it. :)

All these lines of the zebra create a geometrical concept that's almost symmetrical! It looks really good in b/w, that was a wise choice! ;)

Exactly! :) I'm glad you like it. I guess it's a kind of minimalism. Zebras are all about the stripes, to me, so I just reduced this one to nothing but stripes (almost).

minimalism in photos usually help us get to the point much easier!
reduced colors, reduced shapes, tight framing, everything leads to what you want us to see and think! ;)

Very well said! I couldn't agree more. :)
