Artist's Comments

While Jerome, Arizon was one of the largest, and richest, cities in Arizona at one time, it became one of the smallest in the mid-1950s, with a population of around 50. At that point, the remaining few residents promoted the town as a ghost town, and in 1967 it was designated as a National Historic District. Today it is a small, but thriving, tourist town and artist colony. There is a glassblowing studio next to this ruin.

Beautiful ruin. I'd love to visit there one day.

It's definitely worth putting on your schedule if you visit Arizona.

I love Jerome - I wanted to live there - it was a very small art community when I was there plus some what of a ghost town still - nice capture - Sis :D

I have a friend in Phoenix I need to go visit too. I added it to a list I've made of places to see.

Interesting view, nice colors. You have it all here: landscape, urban, technology, transportation ;)

Yeah. Personally, I wish the truck hadn't been there, but that's life.

It would probably be a pretty cool place to live. It's a long drive to the nearest supermarket, though.

Well, if you're coming out here, let me know. We'll definitely have to go get a beer, at least. Maybe do a photo outing, if there's time.

I'll let you know if I make it there. It will be a while. I need the economy to pick up so I can sell this big house for at least what I paid for it. I also have about a year and a half before I can take my 25 year retirement from the college.
