Artist's Comments

"Tuzigoot is an ancient village or pueblo built by a culture known as the Sinagua near what is now known as Cottonwood, Arizona. The pueblo consisted of 110 rooms including second and third story structures. The first buildings were built around A.D. 1000. The Sinagua were agriculturalists with trade connections that spanned hundreds of miles. The people left the area around 1400. "

The highest point of the pueblo has been reconstructed and opened as an observation platform. There is quite a nice view from there. If you look close, you can just make out three people up there.

Well, part of it. Not all of it is still as photogenic as it was when Tuzigoot was built.

Once upon a time, they lived happily ever after.
